Friendly Soap

Friendlÿ Soap was started by Rob and Geoff who grew up in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, where back in the 1970’s it was a hotbed of alternative, hippy and punk culture. This shaped Rob and Geoffs lifelong interest in radical political thought and social and environmental justice.

Looking for fairer ways of doing things came naturally to them and they worked at Suma Wholefoods Co-operative and became inspired to start Friendlÿ Soap in 2008.

Friendlÿ Soap is a truly thriving ethical business that puts people before profit.

Friendlÿ soap does not contain animal products or by-products and is never tested on animals.

Friendlÿ are registered with Cruelty Free International and The Vegan Society.

Their soap is made using the cold-process method which means the soap is totally biodegradable and free from by-products. The soap is poured, cut, stamped and packaged by hand which gives it a small carbon footprint.

The soap packaging is 100% recycled which is recyclable after use.

No harmful preservatives (parabens) or foaming agents (sls) are in the soap.

Shea Butter is from a women’s worker cooperative in Ghana.

Coconut oil is from coconuts that are guaranteed not to have been harvested by slave monkeys.

Friendlÿ has thought of everything! They do as much as they can to have as little impact as possible on our plant and its wildlife. Where they do have an impact, they try their best to make it positive by supporting communities who could use a helping hand.
