Plastic cutlery is prevalent on beaches and The Ocean Conservancy ranks it as the second most dangerous plastic waste, right after fishing nets. Marine animals often mistake it for food, causing them painful deaths. You can help stop this waste by using bamboo cutlery and refusing plastic cutlery.

Bambaw’s bamboo travel cutlery set is the eco-friendly solution to single-use cutlery when eating away from home. It has all you need for eating and drinking outside: a knife, a fork, a spoon and a drinking straw with a corresponding cleaning brush. All packed in a natural cotton pouch with additional space to add chopsticks or any other utensils.

We also advise that you wash the cutlery pouch frequently, in a gentle machine wash and air dry.

The utensils can be put in the dishwasher or simply washed by hand.
Handwashing the utensils is recommended to ensure the longevity of the cutlery.
Simply clean them with warm soapy water. Make sure to dry them thoroughly after the wash. Please avoid leaving the utensils in water for too long.

The straw can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand.
To clean the straw, use the cleaning brush. Rinse the straw with warm soapy water and allow it to dry completely.

To ensure the longevity of the utensils and keep a low footprint, please avoid the use of strong chemicals when cleaning the set, favoring more ecofriendly alternatives.

Deep Cleaning

After having used the utensils with staining or smelly food you might want to give it a deeper clean. Use white vinegar or lime juice to clean and disinfect the cutlery.
Make a solution of water, vinegar or lime juice and baking soda, soak the utensils in the blend for 20 minutes to remove odours and stains. Rinse thoroughly with hot water and towel dry immediately.

Oil Conditioning

Every few months, oil your utensils to keep them at their best. Apply a food safe oil like walnut oil, coconut oil or almond oil. Do not use olive oil as it goes rancid too quickly. Using a cloth rub a liberal amount into the wood. Wipe off excess and allow to set overnight before using it.

Cutlery Pouch Cleaning

After some usage the cutlery pouch may need to be cleaned too. You can easily hand wash it with warm soapy water. The pouch can also be safely washed in a cold wash in the washing machine. Air dry the pouch.
